Privacy policy

This policy applies to the website liaskitchen.ch and to enquiries that reach us via the form, by email or by phone. The applicable law is the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP; in German: DSG).
Visiting the website
So that the browser can display the website, it sends technically necessary information to our server. The server briefly records it in a log:
- the IP address
- the date and time of access
- the page or file accessed
- information about the browser and operating system
- if transmitted: the page you came from
We need this information only to deliver the website, to protect it against attacks and to find errors. We do not analyse it to identify anyone personally. The log is kept only for a limited time and is then deleted automatically.
The website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA in Geneva (Switzerland). Infomaniak processes the data only on our behalf and stores it in data centres in Switzerland.
Links to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp
Our website contains links to our pages on Facebook and Instagram and to WhatsApp. As long as none of these links is clicked, these providers learn nothing about the visit. Only a click on a link leads to the provider concerned. From then on, its data protection rules apply. These providers also process data outside Switzerland, for example in the USA.
Enquiries via the form
How the form works: The form sends your details, encrypted, to our own software on our server at Infomaniak in Switzerland. We process your enquiry there. The details do not go to any other provider. If sending does not work, you can send the enquiry by email instead (‘Send as email’ button). The section ‘Contact by email or phone’ then applies: the email arrives in our inbox at Infomaniak in Switzerland.
We need this information so that we can reply:
- whether it is a private event or a corporate event
- name
- email address
- message
This information is optional and helps us to prepare a suitable quote more quickly:
- phone number
- date of the event
- number of people
Purpose: We use the information to answer the enquiry and to prepare a quote. If this leads to an order, we also need it to plan, run and invoice the event.
What happens to it: The enquiry appears in our software as a new enquiry, together with the language of the page. The software does not send anything in the process, not even a confirmation email. Lia Santos replies personally.
Protection against spam: An invisible field in the form and the time between loading the page and sending help to detect spam programs. For this, the form also sends this time and the page it is on. We do not store enquiries that look like spam. To prevent too many enquiries, the software counts how many come from the same IP address. For this, the IP address is held only in working memory and is not stored in the database. As with every request, the server briefly records technically necessary information in a log (see ‘Visiting the website’).
Allergies and intolerances: Health information is considered particularly sensitive. Such information is not needed in the form; we are happy to discuss it in person later. If we receive it, we use it only to plan and prepare the food for the event safely.
Reviews
We receive reviews via the review form on our website (in German) or by email. The form sends the text, the name requested, the event if given and the permission to publish, encrypted, to our own software on our server at Infomaniak in Switzerland. The details do not go to any other provider. The same protection against spam applies as for the enquiry form, as does the email route if sending does not work. We use the information to read the review. It is only published with express permission and under the name requested on our website. The home page loads the published reviews directly from this software. Permission can be withdrawn at any time with a short message; we will then remove the review.
Contact by email or phone
For a direct email (including via ‘Send as email’ in the form) or a phone call, we use the information in exactly the same way as for an enquiry via the form. These emails arrive in our inbox at Infomaniak in Switzerland. We can add them to our management software.
Contact via WhatsApp
Anyone who writes to us via WhatsApp uses the WhatsApp service (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Ireland). We receive the phone number, the profile name and the messages and use them in exactly the same way as for an enquiry by email. WhatsApp processes its own data in the process, including in the USA; WhatsApp’s privacy terms apply to this. Anyone who does not want this can reach us by email or phone.
Who else receives the data
Lia Santos has access to the information. Companies and specialists commissioned by her only have access where necessary for operation and maintenance. The following process the data on our behalf:
- Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva (Switzerland): website, management software and email inbox
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Ireland): only if someone writes to us via WhatsApp
There are no other recipients, unless we are required to disclose the data by law.
How long we keep the data
- We delete enquiries that do not lead to an order no later than 2 years after the last contact.
- If there is an order, we keep documents that form part of the accounts (for example the quote and invoice) for 10 years. This is required by law (Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations).
- We delete other information about the event, such as notes on allergies, as soon as we no longer need it, at the latest 2 years after the event.
- The server log is deleted automatically after a limited time (see above).
- Our management software makes a backup copy every night. We keep these copies only for a limited time. Deleted data then also disappears from the copies.
Security
The connection to our website is encrypted (HTTPS). Our management software is protected by a password and is backed up every night.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- ask whether we process data about you and which data (right to information),
- receive the data you have given us in a common electronic format,
- have incorrect data corrected,
- request that we delete your data,
- object to processing.
To do so, write to info@liaskitchen.ch or by post to the address above. We usually reply within 30 days and the information is usually free of charge. If necessary, we will ask you to briefly confirm that the request concerns your own data.
We may only delete documents that we are required by law to keep (for example invoices) once the retention period has expired.
Complaints
If you feel that we are not complying with the FADP, please talk to us first. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC; in German: EDÖB): Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, www.edoeb.admin.ch.
Changes
We adapt this policy when our website or the way we work changes. The version published on this website applies.
